Temporary Resident Visa

Overview

Temporary Resident Visa is for a foreign national who wish to enter and remain in Canada temporarily for either pleasure or business visits, however, not all foreign national require a temporary resident visa to enter Canada. If you hold a temporary resident visa, you are not permitted to work while in Canada.

Eligibility to Apply

You must:

  • have a valid travel document, such as a passport
  • be in good health
  • satisfy an immigration officer you have ties that will take you back to your country of origin
  • satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • have enough money for your stay

  • a medical examination
  • a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada
