Canadian Experience Class

Overview

The Canadian Experience Class seeks to attract people familiar with Canadian society and can contribute to the Canadian economy. If you are a temporary foreign worker or a foreign student who graduated in Canada, you may become a permanent resident. Applicants are selected based on their proper work experience or study authorization gained in Canada.

The Canadian Experience Class has two categories:

Temporary Workers Category

As a temporary foreign worker, you must have

  • at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada in an eligible occupation
  • gained your experience in Canada with the proper work authorization
  • language ability in English or French

    Graduates Category

    As a foreign graduate from a Canadian post-secondary educational institution, you must have

  • completed at least a two year Canadian post-secondary educational program
  • at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada in an eligible occupation after graduation
  • gained your experience in Canada with the proper work or study authorization
  • language ability in English or French
