Family Class

Overview

The objective of family class is to see that families are reunited in Canada. All Canadian citizens or permanent residents have the right to sponsor their closest relatives: spouse, common-law partner, child, parents, grandparents or other prescribed family member.

Who may sponsor

You must

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • reside in Canada
  • file a sponsorship application
  • meet the financial requirement
